Atonement

  • You can make the decisions you choose to make. Should your choices be wrong, there is a path back--repentance. When its conditions are fully met, the Atonement of the Savior provides a release from the demands of justice for the errors made. He said, "I the Lord cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance; nevertheless, he that repents and does the commandments of the Lord shall be forgiven ~Richard G. Scott He Lives (Oct. 2009 Conference)

  • As we appropriately seek for and receive the spiritual gift of faith in the Redeemer, we then turn to and rely upon the merits, the mercy, and the grace of the Holy Messiah. Repentance is the sweet fruit that comes from faith in the Savior and involves turning toward God and away from sin." ~ David A. Bednar Clean Hands and a Pure Heart (Oct. 2007 Conference)

  • In order to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, people must first embrace Him whose gospel it is. They must trust the Savior and what He has taught us. They must believe that He has the power to keep His promises to us by virtue of the Atonement. When people have faith in Jesus Christ, they accept and apply His Atonement and His teachings. ~L. Tom Perry The Gospel of Jesus Christ (April 2008 Conference)
  •  The more we fill our hearts and minds with the message of the risen Christ, the greater our desire is to follow Him and live His teachings. This, in turn, causes our faith to grow and allows the light of Christ to illuminate our hearts. As it does, we recognize the imperfections in our lives, and we desire to be cleansed of the depressing burdens of sin. We yearn for freedom from guilt, and this inspires us to repent. ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf The Way of the Disciple (April 2009 Conference)
  • I bear solemn witness that because of the merciful Christ, we will all live again and forever. ~ Dieter F. Uchtdorf Of Regrets and Resolutions (October 2012)
  • Love Him, trust Him, believe Him, and follow Him you will feel His love and approval. As you ask, "What thinks Christ of me?" you will know that you are His disciple; you are His friend. By His grace He will do for you what you cannot do for yourself. ~ Neil L. Anderson
What thinks Christ of me? (April 2012 Conference)
  • Yes, this life is passing swiftly; our days seem to fade quickly; and death appears frightening at times. Nevertheless, our spirit will continue to live and will one day be united with our resurrected body to receive immortal glory. ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf  Of Regrets and Resolutions (October 2012)
  • The great and infinite Atonement is the supreme act of forgiveness and reconciliation. ~ President Uchtdorf One Key to a Happy Family (Liahona OCT. 2012)
  • Though you may feel that no one can understand the depth of your despair, our Savior, Jesus Christ, understands. He suffered more than we can possibly imagine, and He did it for us; He did it for you. You are not alone. ~ Dieter F. Uchtdorf Your Happily Ever After (May 2012 Ensign)
  • When we sin, we turn away from God. When we repent, we turn toward God. Neil L. Anderson "Repent...That I May Heal you" (Oct. 2009 Conference)
